DENVER — Keep your eyes to the sky this evening! The Interstate 25 corridor could see a stray shower or storm through 7pm as clouds increase, but most of the activity will be across the Eastern Plains.
A line of strong to possibly severe storms will develop between Fort Morgan and Limon, bringing the potential for downpours, lightning, damaging winds and large hail.
Storms move out by 10pm with partly cloudy skies on tap overnight. Look for a mild night with lows dropping into the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Big changes move in Tuesday, as a cold front brings a brief break from the heat and some much cooler and muggy conditions. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s around the Denver metro area.
We're in for more widespread showers and storms Tuesday afternoon and evening along the I-25 corridor to the Eastern Plains. Some cells could turn severe, bringing large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Keep your cars in the garage, if you can!
The cooler weather does not last long as the sizzling June heat builds through the rest of the work week. Expect mid to upper 90s Thursday, with triple digits possible in the Denver metro Friday and Saturday. Cooler days return next week.
